Beaumont was a line of cars sold at Pontiac Dealers in Canada. Some loopholes in the tariff laws made this not only possible but a necessity. The cars had Chevey running gear and were closer to Novaès and Chevelles than the American Tempests. In 1963, the Acadian beaumont was the top model of the Canuck Nova?ChevyII, then with the introduction of the Chevelle, the Canuck Chevelle got changed into the Beaumont with the Tempest dashboard and new grille and taillights. The ChevyII and Chevelles were still sold in Canada at Chevy dealerships and the Acadian/Beaumonts were also built in Canada for world wide export, many were right hand Drive.
