2023 Mopar Madness Langley BC
I was lucky to get to the show just as they were allowing the cars to go through the giant Dunlop Tire. They had a photographer taking front 3/4 shots so I went and shot video of them coming straight through and then off to the sides.
There was a lot of cars that I only see at this show and the selection of various models was astounding. I thought it was cool to see a 1972 Scamp with factory air and the deluxe houndtooth interior that was a $600 option I think the owner said!
The two Buczynski Brother with matching 70 Cuda AAR came in and John had to keep shutting his car off as it is a racecar and makes huge noise while running. He is the first registered owner as it was used Chrysler’s leasing department before he bought it when it was a few months old. His is one of the 149 built to Canadian specs out of trhe 2729 AAR Cudas built in 1970.
Garry Keay had his long nose 1970 Superbird with the 440 six pack and A-833 4 speed manual. One of 308 built. Garry restored it himself and alos at the show were a couple of unrestored barnfinds that the owner is going to restore himself. Cody Cole has a 1970 Challenger RT numbers matching 383 that has been off the road since the mid 1990’s. He also brought his 1971 Dodge Super Bee V code 440 with Pistol grip 4-speed. Only 26 V codes were built and this is thought to be the only Canadian one.
Doug Seal the owner of a local Chrysler dealership owns a 1970 Hemi Cuda that was one of the very few Canadian spec cars out of the 652 Hemi Cudas built for 1970. Off the road from 1973 to 1988 it only has been driven 7,300 miles. Vern Keith is the original owner of a 1970 340 Duster with a 4 speed that he bought in February of 1970 from Johnstone Motors in Vancouver.
One rare convertible, a 1969 Barricuda owned by Judy Burgess is one of 1.442 Convertibles built. There was also a factory ordered 1969 Dodge Dart Swinger 340 – 4 speed that was ordered on May 26, 1969 at Lawson Oats in Vancouver and delivered June 20, 1969. Less than a month from paper to the road!!!
